Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival
Saturday morning we went to the art festival at Roane State Comm. College, here in Oak Ridge. We got there really early, so a lot of the artists had just started their drawings. Each square was about 4' by 4'. It was about 55 degrees. I felt sorry for the folks whose squares were in the shade, but it felt really nice out in the sun.

I always loved the chalk art festival. I am in awe and discust of a talent that discriminates against left handers. I remember as a child when all my little friends would draw on the street with chalk, and I would smear what would have been amazing masterpieces - the kind they would dub me as a child prodigy for - because I would smear chalk up to my neck. All I remember is watching the colors swirl down the drain as I took a shower to look human again.
I can't write on chalk boards either (insert showing my age here: ___ ). It was always so embarrassing in grade school. They also thought I was retarded because my writing was that of a 2 year old on the chalk board. All of the left handed kids out there are thankful for pooters... it levels the playing field.
Had it not been for chalk I would have a phd from Yale, and I would have already achieved world domination.
END TIRADE!
What you sacrifice for art.
